Great, so the tamron is a good lens ? I want one for my sony

Yes, I may say that it's a good bargain. I have a film camera, and the tamron i took the photo with is compatible [in terms of light measurement and autofocus] with my F80. The optics are pretty much ok [even though I don't own a better lens to compare with], and it does it's job. After all, it's a tele. And, indeed, it's not nikkor, but it's ok. I mean, it's the cheapest lens I could get [here, I paid 450 RON, that's about $160], and it really does come in handy.
Still, I recommend you a 70-300, it's even better. If you have the 18-55, you lose the 55-70 focal distance, but it's not such a big a deal. I had a 28-70 nikkor, and bought the 55-200 because I had no money for a 70-300. I guess it's worth it, anyway.
