cinema 4d, hand-made material with displacement map on a simple sphere.
i followed a greyscalegorilla tutorial, of course those guys are great. at first, i wanted to make a little animation, and to keyframe the position, the rotation, the strength and the height of the noise in the displacement map, but I also keyframed the seeding of the noise. I guess that's where I failed. So after about 25 hours of rendering for a 15 seconds clip, what I got was a jerky kind of animation. awful. epic fail. i'll try to do it again, this time, i'm gonna try to preview it, even though my pc is incredibly slow.
